Painting a home isn’t just about slapping some paint on a wall! Here’s a sneak peek at what goes down during our process—what we expect, how we prep, and how we get those walls looking So Much Better.

Wall & Surface Prep

    • We use a vacuum sander with a HEPA filter to ensure a dust-free environment.

    • Sanding is necessary to promote proper adhesion between coats and ensure longevity.

    • It creates a smoother, cleaner, and duller surface for better paint application on surfaces.

    • Sanding also helps reduce that weird "orange peel" texture often found on walls, leaving a more refined finish.

    • Wall blemishes are repaired and patched with joint compound to smooth imperfections.

    • We fill nail holes, fix cracks, address lifted seams, and repair nail pops.

    • Gaps and spaces are caulked and filled to create a seamless look and reduce visual noise.

    • For walls that require more extensive repair, we skim coat surfaces that need trowel work to create a smoother finish.

    • Kitchen surfaces are degreased to remove buildup and help paint adhere properly.

  • Switchplates, doorknobs, vents, and other hardware are taken down and inspected for replacement.

  • While we take great care to smooth walls as much as possible, a brand-new appearance may not always be feasible.

Wallpaper

  • Wallpaper installation and removal can be labor-intensive and often reveal hidden surprises. We take the time to properly prepare your walls by:

    • Washing walls to remove excess glue

    • Sanding to eliminate blemishes and remaining debris

    • Performing repairs and skim coating as needed

    • Priming walls, with a second coat if necessary for a flawless finish

    • We properly size walls and align wallpaper for a seamless application. For straight lines, we work at a slower pace to ensure accuracy.

    • Using steamers and blades, we carefully remove old wallpaper while minimizing wall damage.

Painting

    • Trim & Molding: We expertly paint trim, molding, and other details to ensure a cohesive, polished look.

    • Stairs & Railings: Including risers on stairs, railings, stringers, and more for a complete, well-rounded transformation.

    • Fireplace Color Washing – We refresh brick and stone fireplaces with a custom color wash, from soft, translucent finishes to full-coverage transformations, enhancing the natural texture while updating the look to suit your space.

    • Front & Back Door Exteriors – We paint exterior doors to refresh and enhance curb appeal.

    • Floor & Furniture Protection: During our projects, we cover floors and furniture with drop cloths to protect your space.

    • Paint Can Labeling: All remaining paint cans are labeled with the date and room name for easy reference in the future.

Cabinetry & Furniture

    • Carefully remove doors, knobs, and drawers in an organized manner.

    • Sand surfaces to scuff up or remove varnishes for better paint adhesion.

    • Seal, prime, and sand again to create a smooth foundation.

    • Once painted to perfection, we reinstall all components, ensuring a refreshed and polished look.
